I'm a proud Colombian, an engineer, and a mother living in Tampa, Florida. I was born in Cali, Colombia. I've lived in Tampa, Florida since 1999, but I still consider my home to be in Cali. I married Andre in 2011, an Ecuadorian, who is also homesick constantly. Our little girl, Emma, was born in January 2013 and our traveling was almost non existing for a while. We have taken her to 5 countries and she keeps asking me to go on vacation. We have to travel to Colombia, Ecuador, and have enough vacation time (and money) to go somewhere else. Traveling with a toddler is exhausting, but is better than not traveling at all.

I started writing about my home Country, Colombia, since many of my friends asked me for travel advise. I had a blog with TravBuddy years ago that I abandoned. I created this blog in 2010 to write mostly about my trips and my life in Tampa. This is a good way to keep my friends that live far away updated with our life. Many of my recent posts are about my new experiences as a mom and less about traveling. Since I work full time and I only get to see my daughter a few hours a day, I wanted to close this blog when I went back to work. However, I'm going to follow a good friend's advice and keep it open as a way to do one of the things that I enjoyed before becoming a mother. Please forgive my typos and lack of formatting since I'll be using the blogger mobile apps and I have very little time to edit.

I love traveling and helping others plan their trips. If you need any help planning a trip to Colombia (or somewhere else where I've been) send me an email and I will be happy to help. I'm not a professional writer or a photographer, and I am not trying to be. However, I would love to get better at both. Please leave me comments, it will help with my motivation to become a better blogger.
There are many people who like you haven't quit everything to go travelling and write about it, but it seems that it is mostly these people who get a huge following to their blogs. I believe it's great to celebrate normal, sedentary life as well as travelling.
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise! I still need to find the good thing about my normal days! I don't think I could do a RTW trip for one year. I hate living out of one suitcase. However I would like to have more days off. Enough for 2 expats to visit their Countries AND also travel somewhere new.
