Our First look at the Eiffel Tower |
As we walked under the tower, the lights went on and people started screaming. I got scared for a second since I didn't know why they were screaming but it was an exciting moment. I made a short video when I realized what was happening...
After admiring the Eiffel Tower for a while we were trying to find a place to eat but all the places we tried were closed. We ended up buying food at a convenience store and a bottle of the best 1 € bottle of Bordeaux wine. Nothing better than french wine, cheese and, a baguette after a long day.
We were too tired when we returned to my friend's place to take a shower and go out for a drink. I packed heels and a dress to go to Buddha Bar while in Paris. This was one of the things that I wanted to do in this trip. During the 5 nights that we stayed in Paris, we never made it to Buddha Bar.
We started the walk at the Arc de Triumph. From there we walked the Champs Elysees while window shopping. Along the way towards the Musee Du Louve we saw the Grand Palais and Petit Palis and the Pont Alexandre III. I feel in love with this bridge. The pictures with the Eiffel Tower below were taken from there. We walked back towards the Champs Elysees to continue our original route. We saw the Place de la Concorde. I had seen pictures and movies of this place but, it was even more beautiful in person. I was amazed by the water fountains and the Obélisque.

We took a well deserved break at the Jardin des Tuileries. Finally, we arrived at the Musee Du Louvre. We were not planning on going inside that day but the line was not too long so we decided to do go in. The museum was the most beautiful building that I had ever been in (inside and out). It was huge too! We had to sit down several times inside because our legs and feet couldn't take any more walking. I wish that we had done the museum visit first thing in the morning when we werent that tired or hungry. We sent postcards to our parents from the post office located in the museum.
We were starving and decided to walk towards the Opera and find a place to eat. We ate at a restaurant that we chose because we couldn't walk anymore. Here we paid 6 Euros for a liter of water. We were told later that we must say "tap water" but, try to say that in French and you would probably pay the 6 € too.

Did you go to the original Louboutin store? I went there and also saw Coco Chanel's apartment. Those were my favorite things about Paris :) We didn't have any problems with pickpockets, fortunately, but same as you, everyone warned us to be really careful.
ReplyDeleteI will have to do this next time but w/o the sneakers that I was wearing that day! a total fashion emergency! but necessary for the long walks
